Why 1,000s of dealerships run AppraisalPRO:
Stop Losing Money on Trade-Ins
Every car you scan is money you don't lose.

Catch Cleared Codes Before They Cost You
You can't tell who cleared the codes or why — a recent repair, or something they'd rather you not see. AppraisalPRO flags codes-last-reset first on every report, so the risk never silently becomes yours.

Recon Costs in Real Dollars — Not Just Codes
Every scan prices the likely repairs with parts at dealer cost and labor at your shop rate. Know what to pay for the vehicle before you talk numbers.

30-Second Scans. No Service Department.
Plug in, tap scan, and the report is done before you finish the walkaround. Anyone on your desk can run it — no mechanic, no waiting, no losing the seller while the car sits in a bay.

Feeds Straight Into Your vAuto Appraisal
AppraisalPRO calculates the reconditioning costs from the scan, and vAuto or VINCUE uses that number to land an accurate appraisal value — right inside the workflow you already use. No re-keying, no separate system.
AppraisalPRO tells you a number.
Everything the used-car desk needs to protect gross on every trade.

Works on nearly every car that rolls onto your lot.
The sensor plugs into the standard OBD2 port. If it drives in, you can scan it.

Frequently Asked Questions
AppraisalPRO is $195/month per location. You get unlimited scans, unlimited users, no per-scan fees. Hardware is included free, there are no setup fees, and billing is per rooftop rather than per scanner, so your whole desk can scan every car without a meter running.
The average AppraisalPro dealership finds over $30,000 a month in reconditioning costs it would otherwise have absorbed. One transmission you don't eat covers the year.
No contract — month-to-month, cancel anytime. And if a sensor gets lost or damaged, we replace it on request at no charge. It happens; somebody leaves it plugged into a customer's car. It's covered, for free.
Shipping is free, and 96% of kits arrive within 3-5 business days. Setup takes minutes: plug the sensor into the OBD2 port, download the app, scan your first trade-in the day the box lands. No installation, no IT, nobody from service involved.
Two pocket-size OBD2 sensors ship with the kit, plus lanyards and the AppraisalPro app. The hardware is included for free. Sensors aren't assigned to a person, so anyone on the desk can grab one on the way out. Reports land in three places: the app, your email, vAuto, and your dealer portal.
Everything the dash is hiding. 1 in 5 cars scanned at an AppraisalPRO dealership had its codes reset within the last 50 mile - a car whose warning lights were wiped clean days before it reached your lot. You can't tell who cleared them or why. Now you can see that they were cleared, and when, down to the mile. The scan also surfaces pending codes that haven't tripped the light yet plus stored fault history, then prices the likely repairs in dollars based on your own labor rate and OE parts costs.
A cheap reader hands you a code. A code isn't a number you can negotiate with. AppraisalPRO takes the code, correlates it to the specific repair, and prices that repair in real dollars at your labor rate. Then it pushes the recon amount into the vAuto appraisal, no extra work needed.
It replaces the slow step. The honest alternative to guessing is putting the car in a bay for a 20–30 minute inspection, which is exactly why most desks skip it and eyeball recon with flat rates instead. The scan takes 30 seconds, by the time you've walked around the car, the report is already done.
No — and that's the point. Any used-car desk can run it: plug the sensor in, tap scan, read the report in plain dollars about 30 seconds later. No waiting on service to free up a lift, no back-and-forth with a tech, no losing the sale while the car sits in a bay.
Yes. AppraisalPRO calculates the reconditioning cost from the scan and integrates directly into vAuto. The recon lands in the vAuto Appraisal automatically — inside the tool your desk already works in. Nothing to re-key, no second system to check. You can generate a consumer offer in vAuto with the recon data already in it.
Most gas and diesel vehicles, 1996 and newer, anything with the standard OBD2 port. The car needs to be running to scan. It works in Canada too: reports in km, recon costs in CAD, vAuto integration included. Fully electric vehicles aren't supported yet.
You decide what to show, and most dealers use the report the other way around — as proof the offer is fair. Instead of "that's what we can do," you're handing over a breakdown of the actual repairs and what they cost, which makes a lower number defensible instead of arbitrary. Some stores find issues still covered under factory warranty and send the customer back to have them fixed for free, which builds trust and books service work at the same time.
Carvana uses AppraisalPRO on every vehicle they purchase. On the dealer side AppraisalPRO is being used at over 1,500 dealers across the US and Canada, including some of the biggest groups out there: Penske, Lithia, Greenway, Asbury, CanadaOne, and many more. Reach out and we can get you a specific list. One store has found $53,713 in reconditioning it would otherwise have absorbed; a Honda dealer caught $17,898 in his first week on it.
No. AppraisalPro reads codes and live data and prices repairs — it's an appraisal tool, not a service tool. If what you need is bidirectional control or key programming for a shop, this isn't the right product, and we'd rather tell you that now than take your money.
AppraisalPRO is in over 1,000 Franchise Dealers. Franchise stores and multi-rooftop groups get dedicated onboarding, integrations, and a customer success manager.
